Homestead high, surrounded by,
Cedar, Ash, and Birch,
Mountain woodland creatures nigh,
Quarry be their search.
Flyway over stone chimney,
Your plaintive call my song,
Snap of twigs, soft footfalls be,
Right where they belong.
Stoke my fire, peer through pane,
What woodland friend is near?
Blessed be, for in whose eyes I gain
Respect for White-tail Deer.
Gentle eyes, face delicate,
Serene and peaceful beauty,
Borne of Nature Intricate,
Care for your home, my duty.
The eagle soars, aerie near,
We live as One this land,
My unspoken words, I know you hear,
On scales borne of God so Grand.
Falcon's shriek, floorboard creak,
Relaxing lull of nearby stream.
"Soon," I say, to myself I speak,
This place of which I dream.
