When troubles seem to be getting me down,

I take time out -- just to look around.



I open my eyes, and what do I see?

Many who would give their eye teeth to be me.



To walk for some is a real chore.

For others, it's impossible to open a door.



Some live in darkness all of their lives.

Some have never heard their own baby's cries.



Some have trouble drawing a breath.

Some their heart beats are near death.



Some to wheelchairs they are confined.

Some are without a functioning mind.



So when troubles seem to be getting me down,

Why, I take time out -- and just look around.



With my eyes open, there's so much to see,

The many wonderful gifts, God has given me.
